IT'S A ... (part 2)

If you haven't already, go read Part 1 of this post first. Do it now.

Sorry to have done that to you, but this part of the story deserved it's fair share of space. So, let's continue...it's Sunday, and Bob goes to get the envelope off the fridge...and I tell him to open it. But he announces, a bit too gleefully I realize in retrospect, that "Karen should open it." Okay, fine, I am the mama. So we settle in, allow my mom and sisters to get the three cameras ready, and I open the envelope.

Here's quick video of how that went!

This is what I found inside the envelope:

Yes, my dear husband thought this would be a good time to play a little practical joke on his unsuspecting wife. The day after the envelope went on the fridge, he made a master switch and replaced it with a fake. Usually I know when he is up to no good because he inadvertently gives away little clues, but this one he managed to pull off quite nicely. So here we sit, moments after the big reveal, and all I have in my hand is a piece of Mazda note paper with a question mark on it! He thought this was hilarious.

After he had laughed and laughed at me, he retrieved the real envelope, and I had to get my bearings to start this nerve-wracking process all over again. This is how well he matched the two envelopes:

So once again I opened an envelope, and more cautiously this time I peered inside. What could it be? It was either going to be boy or girl, as Lisa said - it's not like I was going to give birth to one of the seven drarfs! And good news, this one had an actual answer inside:

As the note said...

It's a oooooo BOY!!

  1. Yay! I have to say that his little profile was adorable! He will be the love of both of your lives. Being a parent is the hardest, best thing I have even done. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  2. Wonderful! Loved your little video there, too! Your mother is yelling at Bob and our dog is here barking at her. I'm sure that Toby (our dog) will absolutely love playing with your son in a few years. He has an affinity for boys. Congratulations, Karen and Bob. Enjoy with everything in you. Hugs, Esther
